<div><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Comic Sans MS"><span style="COLOR: #800080"><span style="COLOR: #800080">     <span style="FONT-FAMILY: Comic Sans MS">My name is Jennifer Therens and I was born and raised in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Wauconda</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">IL</st1:state></st1:place>.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Southern Illinois University, in 2006 with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  I student taught at <st1:placename w:st="on">Fremont</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Elementary School</st1:placetype>, in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Mundelein</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">IL</st1:state></st1:place> where I worked in a multiage class of 1st and 2nd graders.  While I was student teaching, Mrs. Hamelly, another teacher on the multiage team won the prestigious Golden Apple award, which requires the winners to go on a semester long sabbatical.  After I finished student teaching, I was very privileged to have the opportunity to take over Mrs. Hamelly’s class while she was on leave, and I learned many valuable teaching strategies from this wonderful teacher. Upon Mrs. Hamelly’s return I then finished out the year at <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Fremont</st1:place></st1:city> as an aide in a Special Needs Early Childhood classroom.  While I was aiding at <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Fremont,</st1:place></st1:city> I was called in for an interview at Woodland Elementary West and was honored to accept a position as a Woodland classroom teacher!  I had wanted to be a teacher since I was very young and having my own classroom was a dream come true!  To have the chance to do something I love each and every day is such a wonderful opportunity and I hope to share that enthusiasm for life and learning with all of my students!</span></span></span></span></div></div><span style="FONT-FAMILY: Comic Sans MS"><br /></span>
