News for Parents

DID YOU KNOW, that your Warren-Newport, Grayslake and Waukegan library cards
are good at ALL 44 NORTH SUBURBAN LIBRARIES??? YES!!! It only takes a few
minutes to become registered at another library. Bring your local library card and driver's license
for identification purposes.

CHECK IT OUT !!!

Check out your library's audiobook collection. While nothing can replace the
value of Mom and Dad sharing books with their children, audiobooks are a great way to keep your
child engaged with books while building their vocabulary, fluency and literacy.
Audiobooks are available on CD and as Playaways,( an MP3 player loaded with one or more books.) You
provide the headphones - that's it! Warren-Newport Library has both books with CD and PLAYAWAYS.
Grayslake Library does not have Playaways.

MOVIE ALERT

At least one review I've read has indicated that the movie, Where the Wild Things Are, should not be seen by children under the age of 7.

O.K., I saw this movie and I wasn't all that impressed.  While I think kids ages 7 and up will enjoy seeing the wild things (the costumes are great), the story line is weak and, for young children, perplexing and probably boring.  Save your money, and borrow the DVD from your library when it comes out.
