What's New
We had a great time at our Valentine's Day party.  A special thanks to our party room parent, Mrs. Levin and the parent volunteers, Mrs. Gagne, Mrs. Schumann and Mrs. Mejdouli as well as parents who donated supplies for the party.

For the month of February, we are using money in class.  Students can earn money for their weekly jobs, good behavior and turning in homework and their reading logs.  There are FREE times during the day, but students can pay for certain things if they need to do something during non-FREE times (i.e.: bathroom, sharpening pencils, water). There are also fines for strikes and poor choices.  This is an excellent way for students to practice money and being responsible for their choices.

"VIP of the Week" is Bradley.  Students are encouraged to bring in something special to show the class, as well as to bring in pictures and/or a favorite book to share.

We are finishing up our Math unit on measuring mass and will be starting Unit 10 on subtracting larger numbers.

Students will be taking a break from spelling as we will not be having a spelling test this week.  We will be concentrating on reading strategies and writing.  When we start up our spelling the following week, students will be getting an additional day to study.

In Social Studies, students are learning that the 13 colonies were divided into 3 regions and are learning to read a resource map.  This will help students understand that one of the reasons that colonists came to America was for the abundance of natural resources.

The students earned a popcorn party after receiving 30 ABC awards.  Instead of a popcorn party, Mrs. Blakeslee will be eating lunch with students as well as dressing up in her winter gear and heading outside for recess.  Wish me luck!

We are working on the details of our upcoming field trips in May.  More information to come.  Stay tuned!
