Woodland Intermediate School teacher Craig Hammett has received a grant from
the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American
Library Association. Hammett was given a Picturing America grant. That's an
initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities to bring American
art into classrooms and libraries across the United States. As part of the
grant, Hammett will be provided with 40 Picturing America art prints and a
teacher's resource book. Hammett submitted an application for Woodland's
intermediate and middle schools, officials said, which allows both to receive
a set of prints and associated materials.
