The sample of tagged bats = "t" and sample total caught is "n". We found that this ratio follows the line of best fit. So t/n = T/N. In other words we found that the ratio was 5/25 for the samples and 250/1250 for the total population. The total population of "bats" in the cave was 1250 based on the ratio. This was really close to the actual count of beans done by the first class. Our second class had a little different result and we discussed how this might happen. Science: Finish Writing definitions into packet; Sketch of earth showing the vocabulary words was on the board for students to copy during class. If students did not use time appropriately to complete the drawing, they should use their book to find a suitable picture and label the parts and layers. We will have a quiz on these and other vocabulary words and definitions next week.<br />
LA: Spelling words written in a.nb; Vocabulary definitions /p.o.s.; Spelling packet due Thursday; Read, "Shutting Out the Sky".<br />
SS: Discussed T.F.K. and worksheet.<br />
Other:*** Next Tuesday Sept 27th is Picture day.**** Order envelopes will go home this week.</div>
