   Welcome to 4th Grade!!

Please make sure children are dressed for the weather! They need, boots, hats, gloves and coats each day.

Please make sure you continue to read with your child every day. It REALLY helps their ability and sets a great example!

Math logs are due each week. Just 5 minutes a day can make a HUGE improvement in their speed and accuracy.

We have started the biographies and the region reports. the biographies are due February 18th. Be sure they write the final version of their biography on the packet I provided. NO biographies will be accepted on plain notebook paper.

The region report in social studies will be due around that time as well. We have been working on it in class and will take it home to add the final touches at the beginning of February. Please do not let your child wait until the last minute to do work on each of these. We are working on time management skills and I really want them not to feel overwhelmed with the due dates.  Ask your child about each of these and how they are doing.

Be sure to check and sign your child's assignment notebook every day.  Each day we take a lot of time to go through the assignments and they should be well aware of what the assignments are and what is needed to take home. Your child is responsible for knowing what those assignments are and for turning them in on time. Late assignments will be graded but will receive a lower grade for each day they are late.

Reading AND Math logs are always due on Monday. I always send a form to use for the week in the Friday Folder. If you happen to misplace the form please use a piece of notebook paper or create your own reading log and turn it in. Please do not assume because they lost the form they do not have to turn one in..

Please be sure to check the Friday Folder for your child's assignments. If an assignment says REDO then they need to redo the assignment and turn it in to me. If they do not turn it in they will not get credit for that assignment. I have gone over this with the children and they are aware of this policy.

If your child will be absent please be certain to call the office. Many of you let me know and I really appreciate that but you also need to call the office so when I mark them absent they don't have to call and verify their whereabouts with you.
