Exploratory Spanish
2009-2010
Welcome to Spanish class! We will be spending seven weeks together learning
new vocabulary and reading short stories in Spanish.
Classroom Expectations
The word respetar means to respect in English. We respect our peers, our
teacher, our school, and ourselves. Each letter gives you a classroom
expectation that will help you be a respectful student.
R- Remain positive and always encourage others.
E- Excellence only! (follow directions, no sloppy work excuses, and
stay on task!)
S- Stay in your own personal space and out of others.
P- Pay attention and participate!
E- Expect to be treated as you treat others.
T- Talk when the time is right and at the proper volume.
A- Arrive on time with all of your materials.
R- Remember that you are responsible for your actions.
*We will follow the rules for demerits and detentions as stated in the
Parent/Student Handbook. (3 demerits=1 detention)
Grades
You will be graded using a point system. You will be graded on projects,
quizzes, homework, and class participation.
Homework
Homework will be due the day after it is assigned. If turned in the next day,
you will receive 50 percent credit. You will not receive any credit if it is
turned in any day after that.
Absences
You are responsible for any work missed during your absence. For every day
that you are absent are allowed one day to make up that work.
*If you are going to band, please come to class first! I will sign your pass
and give you the work you will be missing that day.
