Choir Uniforms:
The Music Booster Organization is made up of volunteer band and choir parents of the district.
They organize the music department fund raiser and help get parent volunteers for concerts,
pizza parties and other music activities.
By joining the band or choir program, parents are automatically a member of the Music
Boosters. It is the parents choice on the level of participation.
Additional Music Booster Activities
1. Assist with 7/8 Marching Band Camp in early August for the Middle School.
2. Assist with I.G.S.M.A. contests in years that WMS hosts a festival.
3. Host the local solo and ensemble festival in February.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS
Whitewater Scholarships: Each year band and choir students, grades six and seven, are
selected to receive full scholarships to the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater's Band or Choir
Camp for Middle School students. It is expected that these students will return to the
band/choir in the fall with a renewed excitement for the program. A committee consisting of a
band director, a choir director, a school administrator and a music booster officer whose child
is not eligible to receive a scholarship selects these students. The ten winners are selected
based on a student written essay and the student's commitment to the band or choir program.
The scholarships are presented to the students at the Middle School Winter Concerts.
Musical Merit Scholarships: Musical merit Scholarships are presented to band and
choir students, grades 6th through 8th, who have shown great attitudes, accomplishments
and attendance. These $50 scholarships are received at the Spring Concert and may be used to
purchase music, begin or continue private lessons or any other musical benefit.
Musician of the Year Award: This award is given to an outstanding eighth grader, (one
band, one choir) selected by the directors, for his/her musical contribution to the band or choir
program.
Band and Choir Service Awards: This award is given to an outstanding eighth
grader, selected by the directors, for his/her initiative, positive attitude and overall support of
the Woodland Band or Choir Program.
Our new Constitution and By-laws will appear here soon.
