Piano Explorers for Little Fingers 2009-10

(Young Scholars and Junior Kindergarten)

Children in Young Scholars and Junior Kindergarten are invited to learn
early keyboarding skills during a Piano Explorers class with Mrs. Ciastko.
This class teaches children early keyboard preparation skills, as well as
providing fun through musical games teaching theory and performance skills.

Classes are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-3:30, beginning October
12. There are 2 semesters, each for 9 weeks. Session II continues where
Semester I stops. Semester I is October 13-December 15; Semester II is
January 12-March 16.

Children will learn proper hand position, pre-music reading skills, how to
apply notes to the piano, and beginning piano theory. The children will be
working out of a playing book and theory workbook. We will study a series
called Music for Little Mozarts, a course that follows the journey of
Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse through the Music Room.

This class is limited to 10 children, and registration is taken on a
first-come, first-served basis. After the class is filled, a waiting list
will be assembled. If you are interested in registering your child for the
group class, please contact the FRA Music Department.
