(Kindergarten - Grade 4)

Back by popular demand, the Forest Ridge Academy Group Piano Ensemble 
will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 p.m. for children ages 
Kindergarten through Grade 4.  Classes begin the week of September 21.  
Classes meet in 8 week semesters.  Semester I meets the week of September 21-
November 19; Semester II meets the week of November 30-February 5; and 
Semester III meets the week of February 8 -April 15.

Because of the popularity of this class, registration will be taken 
on a first-come, first-served basis.  Classes are limited to 12 children.  
Once the class is full, a waiting list will be assembled.

Children will learn proper hand position, music reading skills, how 
to apply notes to the piano, and piano theory.  This class offers children 
the freedom to work at their own pace, as well as providing fun through 
musical games teaching theory and performance skills.

Our Piano Ensembles, under the direction of Mrs. Ciastko, had their 
debut performance during FRA's winter 2003 show, "Light The Candles Around 
The World," and joined the Youth Violin Ensemble in a side-by-side 
performance of "New York, New York" during our spring 2004 Broadway 
production.  We also performed "The Pink Panther" with an ensemble of 
21 during our 2005 Celebration of Fine Arts.  Students have performed in a 
solo recital, and most recently in a 2007 joint presentation of "Star Wars" 
with our Violin Ensemble.
