Community Service Project

Third graders take a special
field trip to the Jane Addams
Hull-House Museum in Chicago,
Illinois.

After learning about all the
wonderful things Jane Addams does
for her community, we do
something nice for our
community, as well.


We decorate bags for Meals on
Wheels for the holidays. The
bags are used to deliver meals to
those less fortunate.

Meals on Wheels is a local
organization that provides food
for needy people in our area.


We spend a lot of time carefully
decorating the bags with paints,
stamps, markers, crayons, and
colored pencils.

When the bags are complete, they
are given back to Meals on
Wheels so they can be used to
distribute meals.


We even enlist the help of
others, like our family members
and our reading buddies.


The students are always very
grateful to help others and look
forward to serving their
community each year.
