As I begin my eleventh year here at Forest Ridge Academy, I am very
excited to continue as the Science teacher for the Lower School. This year I
will continue to teach the 3rd-4th and look forward to teaching the 1st and
2nd grade classes. During my time here I have worn many different "hats". I
taught JK for 2 years, worked in the learning lab, substitute taught 2nd
grade for four months, was a part time aid in Young Scholars for 2 years,
helped Mrs. McAleer in Science for a semester, and taught science to 5th and
6th grade students.
I received my Early Childhood degree with a Kindergarten Endorsement
from Purdue University. I am certified in Project Wild, which is an
interdisciplinary, supplementary environment and conservation education
program emphasizing wildlife. I have also attended a variery of workshops
ranging in content from teaching gifted and highly capable students to using
Power Point in the classroom. Prior to my time at FRA, I taught
Kindergarten for four years at Our Lady of Grace in Highland.
My love for the outdoors and belief in the Girl Scout Program, has
encouraged me to volunteer as a G.S. leader for eight years. When
I am not at FRA, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children.
We like to be outdoors and especially like to go camping and fishing.
