Time Management:
In working with your child at home, please keep in
mind that we are working really hard, as a group, on time management. Please
reinforce the following:
1) Vocab and spelling assignments are given the
Friday before the week they will be due. If a student knows he/she has several
commitments during the week, he/she should take advantage of knowing these
assignments and complete them early whenever possible.
2) Many assignments are given over the course of
more than one day. Students should take advantage of this situation and work
on these a little at a time. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE THEY ARE
DUE!!! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE GRADING PERIOD TO TAKE AR QUIZZES!!!
3) Use those laptops wisely!!! As students are
becoming more comfortable using their laptops, I am requiring that various
assignments be word-processed. Other assignments may be word-processed at the
discretion of the student. If it will be too time consuming to complete the
assignment using his/her computer, maybe hand-writing the assignment is a
better option.
