Introduction:

My name is Chris Osika, and I will be teaching 5th grade for the 2009-2010 
school year.  This will be my eighth year at Forest Ridge Academy, following 
five years of teaching experience in the School Town of Highland.

Education:

*Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Special Education
*Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
*Endorsements in Reading and Special Education

Academic Achievements:

*Named “Outstanding Senior” by Purdue Calumet education department
*Member of Alphi Chi and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies
*Graduated from Purdue with highest distinction

*5th grade teacher 2006-2009
*Kindergarten teacher 2002-2005
*Kindergarten teacher for summer school in 2002 and 2003
*Taught junior kindergarten during the 2001-2002 school year
*Attended the state kindergarten conference in December 2002
*Attended a workshop for the Developmental Activities Program 
*Attended a workshop for the Intensive Phonics Program
*Completed training for SCIS science program
*Attended a workshop for working with struggling readers
*Attended writing workshops
