Junior Kindergarten
Updates/Reminders
Holidays
The holiday season is here! Just drive through your neighborhood to see decorations and busy shoppers everywhere. Holiday songs are heard, and presents are in the thoughts and sentences of many Junior Kindergarten children.
At school we would like to celebrate the holiday season this year by giving to others in need. On Friday, December 18th the Junior Kindergarten students along with the rest of our student body are encouraged to celebrate the holidays by Giving Back! The Junior Kindergarten class typically has a book exchange amongst their classmates, however, this year I am asking each student to bring in a children’s book to donate to the children in Liberia. Please feel free to send your child’s book to donate any time before the 18th. Also, please attach a note stating that it will be donated so there is no confusion. Thank-you!
*Project Day will take the place of our holiday party. More information regarding Project Day is being sent home today.
The Polar Express
During circle time today, we enjoyed listening to the story The Polar Express. The children enjoyed this story and were so excited to hear that we were going to watch the movie before our holiday break. On December 18th we will be watching the movie and enjoying hot cocoa and cookies.

Field Trip
We’re planning to go to The Center for Visual and Performing Arts to see a play entitled The Story of the Little Mermaid on Wednesday, December 9th. A list of chaperones will be coming home later this week.
Snow Gear
The snow is on its way! In order to play outside, your child must have the following:
ü snow pants
ü snow boots
ü A warm coat
ü hat
ü gloves or mittens
I will be sending an FRA reusable bag home on Friday for you to place your child’s snow pants and boots in. Please use this bag each week to store their snow gear. Please send this bag to school on Mondays throughout the winter season and I will return it on Fridays to be washed and returned on the following Monday.
* For your convenience, I have already purchased an FRA bag for your child. Unfortunately, I do not have extra FRA bags and do not have extra space in the classroom to accommodate a larger bag. Please take extra care of this bag throughout the winter season.
Smiles,
Mrs. Szafarczyk
