Mrs. Murray has been teaching at Good Shepherd School for eight years. Before
coming to GSS, she taught Language Arts at St. Joseph School in Vanderburgh
County. The Murray family moved to Evansville in 1993 from Stuttgart, Germany
where LTC Murray was stationed serving with the United States Army. The
Murrays had lived in Germany for almost seven years and Mrs.Murray taught
military dependent children in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, DODDS.
Mrs. Murray has two daughters who are both married and no longer live in
Evansville. Her oldest daughter, Joanna, and her husband live in Zell am Zee,
Austria. Her youngest daughter, Sarah, is also married and lives outside of
Indy in Greenfield.
Mrs. Murray and her husband love to go sailing on the weekend on Kentucky
Lake. They also can often be seen walking in and around their neighborhood.
Nesta, their "grandcat", is visiting and is often found hiding in the bushes
of Mrs. Murray's house.
Mrs. Murray does love to read and snack on M&M's (Mrs. Murray M & M get it?)
And yes, she always drives a red stick shift! even their big red truck!
She graduated from Murray State University (no, she wasn't named Murray when
she attended there) and received her Masters Degree from the University of
Hawaii.
She is old! (Old enough to be your granny), but she still loves to dance and
has an Ipod with a polo shirt and an easy chair! She does listen to the Ipod
when she grades papers and believes it truly improves grades overall!
The Murray family thanks you for all of your prayers, cards, and kindness
since Mrs. Murray's diagnosis with breast cancer. Thank so many of you for
your support for Race for the Cure. And it is very comforting to see so many
Good Shepherd faces at St. Mary's.
God is good, he answers prayers, and his love and care are unending. Thanks
be to God and peace to God's people on earth.
The primary mission of Mrs. Murray's class is to nurture young people in the
love of Christ, to help them to reach their God-given potential and to answer
His call to each of them.
The second mission for Mrs. Murray's class is to become lifelong readers, to
fall in love with books, to meet the "right books", and draw from good
literature the inspiration and skills to become proficient, inspired writers.
