My name is Mrs. Scheessele. This is my 24th year at Good Shepherd School. It
is my 29th year of teaching. I graduated from Memorial High School, and the
University of Evansville with a bachelor and master's degree in education.
My husband and I have a son who is the golf pro at Cambridge golf course.
Our daughter is a pharmacist in Ashland, Kentucky.
We are all avid Cardinal fans. Well, I'm just along for the ride! Our
favorite place to vacation is any beach in Florida.
My name is Mrs. Achilles. This is my 4th year as a Kindergarten teacher.
It is my 9th year working at Good Shepherd School. I graduated from the
University of Evansville with a bachelor degree in Education.
My husband and I have been members of Good Shepherd Church for the past 15
years. We have 1 son that currently attends Holy Spirit and
our oldest son is in the United States Army serving in Iraq.
We are diehard St. Louis Cardinals fans including our miniature Schnauzer
named Lucy.
We believe that a developmentally kindergarten is like a good home, where
children can learn through playing, cooking, watching, listening, acting,
reading, and writing or pretend writing. It is a place where children can
explore their environment, ask questions, and answer questions. It is a
place where the teacher is like a parent-reading to the children and talking
about the stories they read; writing for the children and allowing them to
write for different purposes; having time to explore their community on
field
trips. It is a place where children learn that reading provides both
enjoyment and information, and they develop the desire to learn to read and
write.
