KEEP THE CHEESE BALLS ROLLING
November 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Youth Ministry will be rolling our cheese balls and making our famous gourmet 
spiced pretzels on November 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. We need youth and 
adults to help with this fundraising project. These hours can be used as 
service hours for all youth who needs them. We will be provide pizza for 
lunch.  Many hands are needed. Please sign up for a shift on the Youth News 
Bulletin Board. Adult help is also needed for this fundraising event.  All 
proceeds go toward future youth ministry events. 

ANNUAL GOOD SHEPHERD GIVING TREE PROGRAM
NOVEMBER 16 From 6:30 p.m - 8:30 p.m.
The Youth Ministry and Faith Formation & Education Commission has teamed up 
with the Members of Good Shepherd Parish to provide this year's GOOD 
SHEPHERD'S GIVING TREE. "Tag Making Day" "Tree Decorating" will take place  
on Monday, November 16 at 6:30 at the Church. Everyone is welcome to come and 
make tags for the giving tree. You are welcome to bring cookies or snacks to 
share.  

NCYC
NOVEMBER 19 -22
National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting, biennial three-day 
experience of prayer, community and empowerment for 20,000 Catholic teenagers 
and their adult chaperones in Kansas City, November 19-21, 2009.  The event 
includes general sessions, workshops, reconciliation, daily liturgy, concerts 
and special activities. Please keep in your prayers the Good Shepherd youth 
and adults participating in this event: Elizabeth Ubelhor, Sam Peyton, Logan 
Folz, Madalyn Johnson, Robert O’Bryan, Megan Miller, Larry Durchholz, Mary 
Ubelhor, Shelby Johnson, Mary Lou Peyton and Jonna O’Bryan.

ADVENT ADVENTURE- This is a junior high event. HIGH SCHOOL HELP IS NEEDED!
November 29 from 4:30 A.M. – 8:30 P.M.
As Mary and Joseph set out on an adventure into the unknown, so will the 
youth! Our Adventure begins on November 29 at 4:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd. You 
will not know the destination of this event. You will have to trust, just 
like Mary and Joseph did when God asked them to be the parents of Jesus.  
Cost of this event is $15 and a baby gift to be donated to a needy family. 
Cost includes: Transportation, Entertainment, Food and Fun!  WE MUST KNOW THE 
NUMBER OF YOUTH PARTICIPATING! Turn in your registration form, fee and 
permission slip for this event by November 20 to the parish or school 
office.  As permission slips are returned, Jonna will call each parent to 
fill them on the events of the day. Or for information on our event, parents

DECEMBER 9 AT 6:30 P.M. AT BIAGGIS.
We will enjoy dinner and have a gift exchange. Please bring $10 for dinner 
and a $5 gift (creative/funny gifts are expected). Prizes will be given for 
the tackiest Christmas Sweater. Reservations need to be made, please let 
Jonna know if you are planning on attending by December 3. 

CHRISTMAS SERVICE PROJECT
DECEMBER 13TH- Gift Sorting after 10:30 Mass at Good Shepherd
DECEMBER 15th- Gift Sorting at Catholic Charties 3:30 - 8:00 p.m.
DECEMBER 16TH- Gift Distribution at Catholic Charties 3:30 - 8:00 p.m.  
Come share your time this Holiday season as Good Shepherd and the Youth 
Ministry team up to help 12 families in need provide Christmas with the 
Giving Tree Program. All gifts tags taken from the Giving Tree are due back 
to church on Sunday, December 13. After 10:30 a.m. Mass on that day, we will 
be sorting and delivering the gifts that come in from the many giving 
families in our community. On December 16 at 3:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. we will 
head to Catholic Charities and help with the distribution of Giving Tree 
gifts. Please sign up for this event, turn in registration form and 
permission slip by December13 to the school or parish office. Please bring $ 
for dinner, we will purchase pizza while working for Catholic Charities on 
Dec. 16. Adult help is needed each day!  

TEENS ENCOUNTER CHRIST
WEEKEND RETREAT- FEBRUARY 13 -15
This retreat is open to teens age 17 through 22.Teens who are entering or in 
their junior year that are 16 will also be ccepted. At TEC, you will 
experience: 
-A fresh and exciting place away from home, school, and work meeting youth  
  from other areas of the Diocese finding how God fits in your life.
-An encounter with Jesus Christ, risen and alive 
 today.
-Time to reflect on your life, ideas, hopes, and dreams. 
-And much, much more than you can imagine! 
TEC weekends are held four times a year at St. Mary's Church in Ireland, IN. 
The next weekend begins on Saturday, November 7, at noon and ends Monday , 
November 9, at noon. If  interested on attending this retreat please contact 
Jonna to get an application . Cost is $35 for the weekend. Find more
