1. Using the links page create a picture book
for the vocabulary words listed on homework a worksheet. Each picture book
page will include a definition (explanation of the word), image (drawing,
clipart...) that shows or describes the word, and a real life example.

2. You will work in groups of four. Use the digital camera and take
pictures of real things that represent the vocabulary words. Put these on a
poster board. Use a word processing program and type captions for each word.
3. Choose one invention. Research the inventor. Use Famous Scientist as a
search tool. Use Kidpix and write a eight sentence paragraph about the
inventor.Began with a topic sentence. Include what the person invention and
how it is used.Be sure to include ways that simple machines helped make the
invention work. Include a picture of the invention.
4. You will work with a partner and create an invention together. It must
include at least two simple machines. Describe the problem that your machine
will solve. Be ready to present your invention in the Inventor's Fair. Be
sure to look at the inventions by Rube Golberg on the links page for ideas.
