Please do at least 1 activity on the Reinforcement Activity sheet each
night. Please remember that you should spend no more than 20 minutes on
this. Our school has the longest day of any in our corporation so the kids
are pretty tired. If you have any questions about the sheet, please contact
me!
Please try to do some of the multisensory activites on the handout I sent
home last week. The packet had some great info on reversals, pencil grips,
spelling practice, and more. If you have any questions or would like a
demonstration of some of the techniques, please contact me. I try to make
EVERYTHING multisensory for the kids. The more senses they use the better
they can "lock-in" the skill.
Look for a Spelling Rules handout to come home soon. It lists many
spelling rules that your child will be learning this year and in the years
to come. Practicing these rules will reinforce skills needed to be a good
speller for life! Think about it.........has anyone ever shown you these
rules or did you just learn spelling from the way a word "looked?" Have you
ever said..."That word doesn't look right." What about the kids who don't
know what a word should look like? Think how much easier it would be to
know the rules! Most of us learned "i before e, except after c." There's
so much more though. Please read through the packet and if you have any
questions or want to know more, please contact me.
If I'm overwhelming you with info let me know that, too! : )
