Let me introduce you to Theodore, Alvin, and Simon. They are Fire Belly Toads that are very much a part of our school family. They eat night crawlers and climb up the side of the tank showing off their beautiful bellies. We love listening to them serenade us with their singing throughout the day. we also enjoy Fred, the Painted Turtle. Fred was rescued in 2008 by Mr. Fred the custodian. He knew we liked "critters" so he brought him to my classroom for us to take care of. Fred also eats night crawlers. Although he does not sing or make noise, he does entertain us by swimming around and bobbing his head up high if we peek over the top of his tank. Check out a few of these sites to learn more about Fire Belly Toads, Painted Turtles, and frogs and toads in general.
