Wax Museum Teacher Responsibilities

Communicate, organize, monitor, and guide are the four biggest roles you will have as the teacher.  I have included some documents that should help you with this process.

1.   Parents will want to know the date of your Living History Wax Museum as soon as possible so they can arrange work schedules and visitors.
2.  This checklist will help you keep track of students' progress.
3.  To make your museum successful, you need visitors!  Post a sign up schedule in the teachers lounge well in advance of the actual museum date.
4.  Wax Museum Guides are an integral part of the success of this day.  Keep them informed with the directions for Museum Guides.  I send one copy home about a week before the actual date and have a separate copy available on the day of the museum.
5.  Last Minute Reminders go home with each student a few days before the actual museum.
6.  A few days before our museum I send out a letter to visiting teachers .  This reminds them of their visitation time and gives the teachers some guidelines in which to prepare their class.
7.  Each statue wears a PUSH button on their hand.  This gives our visitors a designated place to touch our statues to start their speech.  I laminate the buttons and attach them with Scotch double sided tape.  Each statue will go through a couple by the end of the day.  Keep your double sided tape handy.
