Renaissance Research

Description

Do you know who painted the famous Mona Lisa? Did you know Michelangelo
painted the Sistine Chapel while lying on his back? These are just a couple
famous works from the Renaissance period.

The Renaissance was a cultural "rebirth" in Italy that spanned hundreds of
years. As the Renaissance Researcher, your job is to write an informational
article that will be displayed in the museum to teach the public about
Renaissance artwork.

Also, you are responsible for choosing three pieces to represent the
Renaissance time period. How are these pieces characteristic of Renaissance
artwork? After you have selected artwork, write a short biography on the
artist(s) whose work you have chosen. Then, prepare to explain to your group
members why these pieces should be on display in the musuem.

Some examples of Renaissance painters are listed below, but you are not
limited to these artists.
