Process

Step 1:  Choose a Role

*You will be assigned to a group of 4.
*You will choose to be one of the following;  

                                         A Protein Expert
                                         A Carbohydrate Expert
                                         A Fat Expert
                                         A Vitamin Expert

Step 2:  Research your Role

*You will become an expert in your role by researching on the internet. There 
 are websites listed under your specific role found on the home page. You    
 will do this part individually. 
*Use the worksheet found on the home page to organize the information you 
 learn about.  This will help you when it comes time to meet back with your 
 group.  I will be collecting your worksheets & this will be a part of your
 grade.


Step 3:  Have a Group Discussion

*Discuss which nutrients are most important.
*Discuss which nutrients are least important.
*Please print the Group Chart worksheet found on the homepage.  You will only 
 need one copy of this.  You will use this chart to help determine which 
 product is the most nutritious.

Step 4:  Brochure or TV Commercial?

*Decide with your group which project (brochure or TV commercial) you'd like 
 to complete (majority rules).
*If you choose a Brochure:

                           1.  Look at your product's nutrition label & each 
                               expert must contribute facts promoting their 
                               healthy choice to the brochure.  
                           2.  You should use complete sentences & good 
                               grammar.  You should make your brochure 
                               visually appealing with good graphics.
                           3.  You need to have at least 5 sections. Four     
                               sections so that each expert contributes & one 
                               more to give a summary about why this product  
                               is healthy.  
                           4.  Use Microsoft Publisher to create your 
                               brochure.  It provides a template to
                               make a professional looking brochure which you
                               will turn in & present to the class for a      
                               grade.
                               


*If you choose a TV commercial:

                           1.  Look at your product's nutrition label & each 
                               expert must contribute facts promoting their 
                               healthy choice to the commercial.  
                           2.  You will use Hyperstudio Software to design 
                               your ad. You should use complete sentences & 
                               good grammar.  You should make your commercial 
                               visually appealing with good graphics.
                           3.  You need to have at least 5 stacks. Four     
                               stacks so that each expert contributes & one 
                               more to give a summary about why this product  
                               is healthy.  

Step 5:  Presentation

*You will present your brochure or TV commercial as a group to the class.
