Common QuestionsFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
How should money be sent to school? Please send ALL money in an enveloped labeled with your child's name, my name, and the purpose. For field trips and special events checks can be made payable to PVLE. What if my child has a change in dismissal plans? He or she will need to bring two notes to school on the day of the change. One note is for me. The other note will be carried with your child to the bus driver. Without the notes, I will be obligated to send your child home as usual. What if my child forgets somethings at home? (special notes, lunch box, etc.) If is an urgent matter, I would suggest calling the school and leaving a message with one of the school secretaries so that they can then pass the information on to me or a substitute. Items can also be dropped off at the office. Non-urgent matters can be e-mailed to me or you can leave me a voice mail. Please keep in mind that substitutes will not have access to my voice mail or e-mail. Can I eat lunch with my child? YES! Just sign in at the office and wait for our class as we walk by for lunch. Join in the line and have an enjoyable lunch! If you would like for me to order you a hot lunch, bagel/yogurt, or salad, please send a note in with your child that morning. What can we do for a homework coupon? Anything that your child brings home in his/her blue folder can be reviewed with you for a coupon. One coupon equals one activity. Examples: book in the bag, take-home book, yellow highlighted worksheets, corrected pages, workbook packets, etc. Spelling tests will be on Fridays. Our first spelling test will be near the end of September. Look for a spelling practice sheet that is sent home on Monday. Who should I make the check out to when ordering Scholastic books? Checks should be payable to Scholastic Book Clubs. Please make sure your child's name is on the order form and envelope. How often do children taken Rocket Math tests? Tests are taken twice a week, but often practice daily. Rocket Math will begin in November focusing on addition facts. How are birthdays celebrated at school? The Zionsville Community School Corporation has updated their Wellness Policy. Food items will no longer be allowed during birthday celebrations. We will continue to celebrate the birthday child with recognition on morning announcements, a song, cards, and a small surprise. |
