Last Week's Homework

Monday, November 30th 

6th grade in class:  Students reviewed the definitions of "free market economy" and "command 
economy" and shared their illustrations for these words.  Students began a market simulation activity 

Homework: GDP of your country due on Tuesday, December 1st 

7th grade in class:  7S did not meet because of the "Special visitors"

7C- students created 4 squares vocab for "cartel" and "OPEC" 

Homework: Islamic Renaissance Museum Project due Tuesday, December 1st 

8th grade in class:  Students received their museum label rough drafts back and we discussed what 
should be done to make improvements for the final draft. Students had time to work in their first 
journal entry (as their Revolutionary War characters).  Students also started to work on creating their 
Rev. War journal cover sheet. 

Homework:  First journal entry due Wednesday, December 2nd 
Colonial Occupations Museum: Thursday, December 3rd 


Tuesday, December 1st

6th grade in class:  Students continued with the Good Economist simulation.  They designed and 
created badges in their "companies" using a free market economy system.

Homework: None

7th grade in class:  Islamic Renaissance Museum 

Homework: Bring in magazines for our Africa collage next week (We will need pictures of animals 
and vegetation for the different climate zones in Africa.  National Geographic magazines work very 
well).

8th grade in class:  Students discussed what they already know about the Revolutionary War.  They 
started their unit cover sheet.  Students also began to take notes on the differences between Patriots 
and Loyalists.  

Homework: First journal entry due Wednesday, December 2nd

Wednesday, December 2nd

6th grade in class:  Students finished our Good Economist Simulation.  Students worked on a 
worksheet about the United States' trading partners 

Homework: Economics quiz: Monday, December 7th 

7th grade in class:  Students presented several of their Islamic Renaissance Museum projects.  
Students continued to take notes on the history of the Palestinian- Israeli Conflict.

Homework: Bring in magazines for our Africa collage next week (We will need pictures of animals 
and vegetation for the different climate zones in Africa.  National Geographic magazines work very 
well).

8th grade in class:  Students finished their notes on Patriots and Loyalists.  They turned in their 
preferences for what side their character would be on.  Students had time to work on their Rev. War 
cover sheet and Journal.

Thursday, December 3rd

6th grade in class: Students went over the worksheet about US trading partners.  Students finished 
the "after" side of their U.S./Canada cover sheet.  Students received their study guide and had time to 
start them.

Homework: Economics study guide due Friday, December 4th 
Economics quiz: Monday, December 7th 

7th grade in class:  Students discussed a South Bend analogy for the conflict in Israel. Students 
finished their notes on the conflict. 7C started a worksheet on a timeline of events in the region.

Homework: 7C finish timeline worksheet for Friday, December 4th

Friday, December 4th

6th grade in class:  Students went over their economics study guide.  Students brainstormed what 
they know about our next unit "Ancient Greece and Rome"  THey started to create a cover sheet for 
this new unit. 

Homework: Economics quiz: Monday, December 7th

7th grade in class:  Students finished our discussion of the conflict in Israel.  Students received a 
study guide for their Modern Middle East Quiz and had time to start the study guide.

Homework: Modern MIddle East Quiz on Tuesday, December 8th
