Library Standards The AASL, The American Association of School Librarians, a division of the American Library Association, published the Standards for the 21st-Century Learner in 2007. These standards form the backbone of our library program. The AASL has also produced a "cross-walk" between the Common Core Standards and the Standards for the 21st-Century Learner that shows how integrated all of the library standards are with the Common Core Standards.
The end goal of these standards is to "prepare students for life-long learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies." |
