Mrs. Shreves’ Newsletter for May 20th May 24th
This Week’s Information:
This is the last newsletter for this school year! It has been a great year!
The students have worked very hard this year. I have enjoyed teaching them!
I hope that they will read over the summer and continue practicing their
addition and subtraction math facts.
Homework: This week’s homework is very different than the homework in the
past. Students will be given a piece of writing paper today. They need to
choose something from their house that a parent approves of to bring in the
class to show and tell on Monday or Tuesday. They need to write down
everything that they want to tell about this object on the lined paper. If
the child only writes one sentence, then that’s all he or she can tell about
the show and tell object that was brought in. Students will read what they
wrote. So the more they write the more they can tell. Students may bring in
their show in tell on Monday or Tuesday. Students will earn money for the
End of the Year Store for bringing in this homework. I’m encouraging
students to still read every night for 20 minutes!
Special Schedule: Mon. = Art Tues. = (No specials because of Field Day.)
*Please wear tennis shoes! Wed. = library (Awards at 10:00 a.m.)
Thur. = computers
End of year sale!!!!! If you have any items to donate to the end of the year
sale, please bring them in any time before Wednesday. It can be nice items
that your child has out grown: toys, stuffed animals, books, pencils,
markers, etc…. The sale will be on Wednesday, May 22nd. If any parent can
help with the sale, please let me know! I’m hoping to have the sale
Wednesday morning.
Behavior sheets are due on Monday. The last behavior sheet and report cards
will be sent home this Thursday.
The Awards Program for 2nd grade is this Wednesday at 10:00.
Summer birthdays! If your child has a summer birthday and you would like to
celebrate it with treats, you may bring in treats any time from now until
Thursday, May 23rd .
Students need to continue practicing their writing skills this summer too.
So, I’m writing my address down so students can write to me this summer if
they wish. I will write them back.
