End of the 2nd Quarter See you in 2010! 1. Understand the question 2. Plan a strategy 3. Solve it 4. Look back and justify your answer Remember to justify your answer. Explain why you did what you did. ***************************************************************************** Problem Of The Week (P.O.T.W) scoring rubric is as follows ***************************************************************************** P.O.T.W. is worth a total of 9 points. It is required to be handed in on Thursday. It is expected that all students will hand in their work on time and complete! 0 pts. = Work handed in after Monday afternoon. 6 pts. = Late Work, Sloppy work or "Lack of Effort" work (Friday/Monday) 7 pts. = Minor Flaws – The solution may or may not be correct but your work and computation shows an understanding of the problem. Little to no explanation of the solution. 8 pts. = Acceptable - The solution is correct. It shows what needs to be done to solve the problem. Your work and computation shows an understanding. Labels and pictures are used to show solution. Work and explanation is clear and legible. 9 pts. = Well Done – The solution describes your ideas about the problem. You clearly explained the steps that were taken to correctly solve the problem. You show an understanding of the mathematical reasoning behind your solution. Equations and computations are accurate, clear, and neat.
