About The Teacher
I am excited to be diving in to my 3rd year here at Cure! I can't believe this will be my 13th year of teaching! I come from Western Kansas where I began teaching 2nd grade in Hays. After 4 years, I moved to Lawrence with my husband, Eric, and taught 4th grade for 6 years in a little town north of Lawrence - Lecompton. We moved to the Kansas City area 3 years ago when Eric accepted a job at UMKC. He is the Director of Housing/Assistant Dean of Students for the university. We have two children: Dylan will be a second grader here, and Lauryn will be in the 4-year-old preschool room at Brookridge. One of my favorite pastimes is reading junior novels and series. I like to be able to recommend and discuss books with the students. Come in ready to talk books!! I also enjoy cross-stitching, doing puzzles, and Sudoku.
