Homework assignments will provide continued practice on concepts
developed in class work. Students will be asked to complete and polish
responses to literature. Daily assignments, independent reading, a reading
log, and some longer term projects can be expected.

ROUGH DRAFT has been extended to 10/9. You must have the 1-3-1
essay for the FIRST PART explaining what you consider to
be the most obvious and important "emotional effect" created by
Poe in the story "Tell-Tale Heart". The SECOND PARTof the test
requires you to write in paragraph form the important elements
following the pattern of the Standard Plot Development line. Use
the story map we created in class as an aid. Use the language
from your handout titled "Standard Plot Development" in your
writing. That includes: *Exposition (3 parts); *Complications
(3 or more events) ; * climax ; * Problem/Conflict
* Resolution * Theme

You will be working on research in the computer lab on 10/2. This
research will help you prepare for your next book report.
2) Brochure deadline has been extended to Wednesday, 10/7 due to
issues with computers. You may choose from these options to
complete your project: a) complete and print your brochure at
home after making sure your jump drive has been checked for virus
by a place like Micro-Center or Best Buy b) type your sections
and glue them on a paper in the proper format c) Completely
handwrite and color the brochure.
9/30/09 All assignments related to "Tell-Tale Heart" must be turned in
by 10/1. Continue working on your brochure. We will discuss
your progress in class tomorrow. Because of the computer
issues at school it may be necessary to complete the brochure
without the use of technology. Final turn in of the brochure
is scheduled for 10/5.
9/29/09 Your 2 worksheets that were due 9/29 will be picked up 9/30.
Brochure turn in for extra credit will be 10/2. Final turn in
day is 10/5. Complete the notes you started in discussion during
class today. You should have 5 or more ideas under each of
8 topics about the Coterie performance we saw today.
