Homework assignments will provide continued practice on concepts
developed in class work. Students will be asked to complete and polish
responses to literature. Daily assignments, independent reading, a reading
log, and some longer term projects can be expected.

you present 2) Read your "classic" book - you have a reading
log due 10/7. You will need 60 minutes of reading and a full
entry in your log.
9/30/09 1) All assignments related to, "Reflections from the Civil War"
and "The Bet" must be turned in by 10/1/09. Begin reading the
"classic" we checked out at the Cure' Library on 9/28. You will
have a reading log entry due 10/7/09. This requires 60 minutes
of reading and a completed entry as explained in your log.
9/29/09 1) Story map (The Bet) and author notes from page 251 will be
picked up 9/30. 2) Your research project you started in class
today will be due 10/1, Thursday. We will begin group presentations
at that time.
9/28/09 1) Complete the story map for "The Bet", pages 242-250 in your
literature book. 2) Complete author notes from the facts on
page 251, Anton Chekhov. Use the 4 topics: personal life/family;
career/education; important works; and important facts
