Monday, Nov. 30: Today we viewed a video on the canonization of saints. Time was also given to work on your saint project. Reconciliation was this afternoon. Computer lab downstairs tomorrow. Class time on Wednesday is devoted to working on your saints project. Page one of your project is due Wednesday. Thursday we will again be in the computer lab. Friday, page 2 of your project is due. Remember that 10% will be deducted for each day your project is late. Be on time!

Tuesday, Nov. 17: We took the Ch. 12 test today. Homework: On notebook paper, list one scripture quote that you would like to see used for the 2010 8th grade class picture. We will be in the computer lab tomorrow. Make sure  you have all required info to complete your Eucharist PowerPoint slide.
 
Monday, Nov. 16: Ch. 12 test tomorrow. Eucharist info for PowerPoint due on Wednesday. We will begin research for your saint project on Monday of next week. Make your choice now!

Friday, Nov. 13: Today we discussed the Confirmation saint project. Make sure you choose a saint for Confirmation this weekend!  Confirmation meeting this Sunday 7:15pm.in the school cafeteria! We will be in the computer lab next Wednesday and Friday. You must know your eucharist information for the PowerPoint by next Wednesday. Test over Ch. 12 on Tuesday. Make sure your study guide is complete.
 
Thursday, Nov. 12: We finished reading the chapter. Complete 6 and 7 on the front of study guide and #4 on the back. The entire study guide should now be finished. See me for a copy of the assessment if you were absent as it was completed in class. Test on Tuesday over Ch. 12.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 11: Read pp. 144-145. Study guide #4-5 on front and #4 on back (1st part only). Complete map for England. Choose your Confirmation saint!!! Test over Ch. 12 on Tuesday.

Monday, Nov. 9: Read pp. 140-141 in Church History book. Answer questions 1 and 2 on back of study guide. Hours 5 and 7: Plot all cities and people mentioned on these two pages on your map in the designated color for Spain.

Thursday, Oct. 22: Pro-life essay due next Friday. The computer lab is reserved next Thursday for work on this project, but you will need to put in additional effort before that date. See Wednesday assignment for more info. Chapter 11 test will be Tuesday. Review on Monday.
 
Wednesday, Oct. 21: Computer lab tomorrow. We are working on pro-life essays. Due Friday, Oct. 30! Give thought to your essay tonite and complete the graphic organizer (one side only). Your choices are as follows:
1. Write a persuasive paper of 300-400 words. Persuade someone to join the pro-life cause. Offer concrete suggestions on how to implement change as well as facts about the evil of abortion.
2. Write a paper for the pro-life essay contest. This paper should be 400-500 words in length. Refer to the sheet given at the pro-life forum for special instructions. This paper is also a persuasive paper offering concrete ways to implement change and specifically addressing the evils of abortion. You will receive 5 pts extra credit for choosing this option. Please note a rewrite will be required as a polished paper must be submitted for the contest.
 
Additional extra credit: Complete a poster for the pro-life contest. Info on the window in my room! 5 pts extra credit given. Poster are due to me by December 9.
 
 
 
Tuesday, Oct. 20: Pro-life Forum tomorrow at Nativity Church from 9:30-11:45. Today we finished reviewing the study guide and completed the chapter assessment. Ch. 11 test will be next Tuesday.
 
Monday, Oct. 19: Finish reading chapter and complete study guide. Test over Ch. 11 will be next Monday.

Monday, Sept. 21: Test tomorrow over Ch. 9. Essay: Discuss the statement "Science and Religion are both 'winners' when they show mutual respect and carry on an open dialogue for the good of all." Use information from our class discussion of the two types of knowledge, faith and reason, in your writing. Specific examples of scientific discoveries are needed for a complete answer. Also, make sure you are ready to work on Title and Baptism PowerPoint slides on Wednesday.
