MIDDLE SCHOOL GUIDELINES for 2008-2009 School Year

The main focus of Cure’ of Ars School is to encourage students to
become responsible, educated Christian citizens who continue to develop their
God-given gifts. Parents, students and educators all have positive roles as
partners in this process.

To help make this possible, students are asked to extend the
following courtesies:

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.	Be prepared for class…it isn’t fair to have others lose valuable
learning time while you search for books, paper, pens and other materials.
(Please pick up and return your merit card each day.)

2.	Your parents are concerned about your education, and your teachers
find it important to communicate to them how you are doing…so, have your
tests and other correspondence signed and returned to help in this process.

3.	Have your assignments completed and turned in on time. You will be
given a check and your grades will be reduced by 10%, for first day that an
assignment is missing. If the missing
assignment is not completed by the beginning of the next day’s class, it will
be recorded as a “0” in the grade book. Your teachers prepare for your
classes and correct your work so that student improvements and success are
possible.

For any assignment that you are given three or more days to complete: You
will be given a check on the due date and your grade will be reduced by 10 %.
If the missing work is not completed by the beginning of the next day’s
class, it will be recorded as a “0” in the grade book.

4.	It is always best if you are here on the day of a test. However, if
you are absent for a test, you will be required to take it on the day of your
return to school, unless other arrangements have been made.

5. If you have been absent from school, you are given one day for each day
absent to complete
all assignments. It is your responsibility to get the assignments, and
the books necessary to
complete them, ASAP. To facilitate you in this quest, the assignments
will be posted online
at the URL address: teacherweb.com. Simply follow the prompts and you
will be able
     to find each teacher’s assignments.

BEHAVIORAL RESPONSIBILITIES

6.	Distractions can make learning difficult for many students, as well
as, disrupt the class…please do not disrupt the class once it starts.

7.	With so many other grade levels in the school building, noise in the
halls and in other areas of the school building is distracting…protect the
other students’ right to learn by keeping as quiet as possible when you are
out of class.

8.	Gum is never allowed in the school building unless you have an
Orthodonic pass. Orthodonic passes are only good for the day of the
appointment.

9.	Time set aside for study hall or independent work is valuable for
many students…please provide the quiet needed for them to work…use study hall
time properly and follow directions during independent work periods.

10.	Be ready at the bell for the class to start, and wait until the
teacher dismisses you before leaving…this will help your teacher give you all
the necessary information to start off and finish your class successfully.

11.	School personnel, parents, students and guests deserve to have
courtesy shown to them…because they care about you, please show that you
respect and care about them.

12.	At recess and in the cafeteria there is a greater freedom of movement…
please try to keep these times safe by your actions and by following the
directions of the staff members on duty.

13. Each student is responsible to be aware of the uniform regulations and
comply strictly with said regulations.

14. Permanent markers and 'White-Out'(or any other type of fluid correction
devices) are forbidden and will be confiscated.

15. Merit cards are the property of the school and are not to be redesigned
or written on by the students. You are responsible for turning in and picking
up your merit card each day.
16. Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.

If a student does not extend the courtesies outlined above (# 1-16), the
proper notation will be made on the student’s merit card. Five such
notations for organization or five for behavior will result in the student’s
remaining after school on a designated day for an 8th hour.

PLEASE NOTE:

severe manner befitting the infraction. Suspension and/or expulsion for
serious offenses will be handled as outlined in school policy.

and students working together can make the process of learning and caring for
ourselves and others enjoyable and fulfilling.
