<div>Our word wall words are the focus of our spelling instruction for the first <br />
semester. Word wall words are those words that all second graders need to <br />
know how to spell. We focus on learning them for life, and not just for <br />
the test on Friday. Once these words have been tested, they become "No <br />
Excuse" words, words that must always be spelled correctly in daily work. <br />
They become part of our word wall and can be used as a resource throughout <br />
the year. </div>

word families, those words that follow similar spelling patterns.</div>
