About Me:

Hi, my name is Karen Williams. I am very excited about working with your
children this year. This will be my first year teaching 5th grade and I am
really looking forward to it. The curriculum is fun and exciting and there is
awesome literature available for 5th graders!

I started my teaching career at Williams Science and Fine Arts Magnet School
in Topeka. I graduated from Washburn University in 2002, after student
teaching at Williams. I taught at Williams for four years, 3rd grade
my first year, and then kindergarten. I decided to apply in the Seaman
district when full day kindergarten was approved. It has been nice to be
closer to home and this community is wonderful to live and work in. I taught
kindergarten at Indian Creek for 3 years, until the school closed. I received
my degree in Educational Leadership from Washburn University in 2009.

My husband, Eric, is a bricklayer. We have been married for almost ten years.
We are blessed with two beautiful children. Our son, Andrew, will be 6 in
August, and is starting kindergarten this year. Ryleigh turned 4 in June.
We love to play outside and read. We are active in Northland Christian Church.

Mission For The Class

My classroom will provide an environment, focused on the needs of
individual students and families, in which all students will discover the
knowledge, skills, and social/emotional behaviors that will enable them to
make informed decisions about the world around them.
