ATTENTION ALL BAND PARENTS
2009/10 BAND FEES AND VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
There are three very important documents we'd like you to know about.
The first is a Welcome Letter for the 2009/10 year. It explains the 2009 band
fees and provides
registration information and dates (that are rapidly approaching!). You can
download this letter by clicking here.
Please note that,
with your check, you will need to return the Booster Fee form, which can be
also be downloaded by clicking here.
In addition, we are looking for volunteers for the 2009/10 school year. This
is such a great way to
support the band program and meet other band parents. Just download the
volunteer form
here , take a look at where you can help and then send the form back in.

SME's Emmet Starkey, Jacob Hamilton & David Beeder Make State Concert Band
Trombonist Emmett Starkey, Tenor Saxophonist Jacob Hamilton and Percussionist
David Beeder have been selected to be in the Kansas Music Educator’s
Association State Concert Band. This is the highest honor for a student
musician to receive in the state of Kansas.
Congratulations to each of them!
SME Band Alumni Make their Marks in Several College Bands & Orchetras
Brandon Mais was selected 1st chair bassoon in the Kansas State University
Symphonic Band. He is majoring in engineering, but is on a music scholarship.
Adam Robinson was selected 1st chair in both the concert band and the jazz
band at Hutchison Junior College where he is pursuing fire science as a major.
Eli Kaldahl was one of a few freshmen selected for the drum line in the
University of Nebraska Marching Band.
Mark Bower is marching at Auburn University and he was also selected for their
symphonic band.

Congratulations to senior band member Joseph Marx, for being named a
National Merit Semi-Finalist!
