SMS Band Booster's Coffee/Tea Fundraiser

 

Thank you for supporting the SM South Band Booster's Coffee/Tea Fundraiser.  The fundraiser startedTuesday, October 27, 2009 and runs through Monday, November 23, 2009.  Orders will be delivered the 2nd week of December.  Details as follows:

Please put your name and phone number on the order form.  Make sure buyer indicates whether they want whole bean or ground coffee.

 

Coffee: $12.00 per 12 oz bag/Tea: $8.00 per box (15 bags per box)

 

All checks should be made payable to SMS Band Boosters

 

Place orders in an envelope and drop them off in the mailbox in the band room.

 

Proceeds go directly to the band.  The band makes an average of $5.00 per bag of coffee sold, and almost $3.00 per box of tea.  Students will also earn $1 (applied to their account) for each bag sold. The student that sells the most will get donuts for his/her section.

Photography special for seniors and other band members!

 

We are excited to announce that Ed Creaden is offering a special photo package discount program for all Rompin’ Stompin’ Raider Band members!  This special is for seniors looking for an awesome senior photo portfolio AND for other band members that may be interested in individual or family photos for any occasion.

 

You have seen some of Ed’s photography in the 2008 and 2009 marching band DVDs, but be sure to check out his website at:  www.edcreadenphotography.com for samples of senior and family photos and more information.

 

We have also created a Tab on the left side of the News Flash screen that will link you directly to this special page on his website. The Tab is labled "Photo Special - Ed Creaden's".

 

This special offer is for all 2009/2010 SMS marching band members, and includes the following:

 

·       10% off any photo package and all ala carte prints;

·       One additional free 8x10 print will be added to all print packages; and,

·       A $25 cash donation will be made by Ed directly to the SMS Band Boosters for every band student that purchases a photo session!

STUDENT ACCOUNTS UPDATED!!
Student accounts have been updated as of Oct  8th.  The balance includes any monies carried over from last year, transfers from siblings, and any earned from selling Trash Bags or Entertainment Books.  We still have a few students who have not turned in their Entertainment Books, so if these students earned any money, theirs will not be updated.  Click on the Student Accounts Tab on the left and enter your/your students password.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

All Chair positions are now filled and THANK YOU to all that are heading up these positions!! 

Now we need help for our Chair People!!!  Areas to help:

 

Cook Chili for the masses in December

Do you enjoy cooking?  Would you be willing to donate your time cooking and 7-15 pounds of chili ingredients to the band?  If you volunteer to cook, your family eats free of charge at the Winter Band dinner!!  Our Winter Concert Dinner is a Chili Supper fundraiser for the Band Boosters.  Funds raised from this event will benefit all students of the band program.  We are looking for 8-10 more volunteers to cook chili.

_________________________________________________________________________________________ STADIUM CHAIRSIf you want a comfy seat for the remaining football games and upcoming marching competitions, get your stadium chairs now!  We have seats on hand and have placed our final order for the season.  Send email to pete.demars@gmail.com to reserve your chair and pick it up at Friday’s football game (or we can arrange delivery).  Just $35 buys you the most comfortable seat available!  Show your South pride! 

WARRENSBURG TICKETS:
  Last year SMS Band won the award for pre-selling the most tickets for UCM’s Festival of Champions in Warrensburg.  Let’s do it again!  Tickets are available for $10 each at Friday’s football game or you can order by email and arrange delivery/pickup:  pete.demars@gmail.com.   The UCM Festival of Champions gives the band a $2 rebate on every ticket we pre-sell – but the band earns nothing on tickets purchased the day of the event.  If every band student sold just 2 tickets we’d earn almost $400…AND we’d fill the stands with Rompin’ Stompin’ Raider green and gold!  So stop at the spirit wear table or contact the spirit wear team and get your tickets now!

Band Juice Volunteers Needed - At each Home Game, we have and need more parents to assist us in handing each band member a bottle of water when coming off the field at halftime. SMS BAND PARENTS & FRIENDS:

Do you own your own business?  Are you looking for unique ways to advertise? Do you work for a company exploring ways to advertise locally? Do you know someone who owns a business?  The SMS Band Spirit Wear Team has an exciting opportunity we’d like to extend to local businesses.

 

For the first time we are offering the ability to advertise your business on Stadium Chairs while sponsoring the Rompin’ Stompin’ Raider Band.  Tax-deductible sponsorships are available for $500 per spot; multiple spots can be combined to create a larger ad.  Your company info would be printed on Stadium Chairs orders for a full year!  Plus, your advertising dollars continue to work for you as long as the Stadium Chairs are in use!

 

A very limited number of advertising spots are available.  The sample picture below shows the front of the chair (graphic is subject to change).  Advertising is arranged on the seat back and is clearly visible whether the seat is folded or in use.

SMS BAND PARENTS & FRIENDS:

The Band Booster Spirit Wear Team has received many requests for Stadium Chairs. We have done a great deal of research and believe we have a top-quality product.

·     Three-ply poly fabric cover consisting of a poly canvas, foam padding, and nylon    fabric backing, all quilted together for superior quality and maximum comfort.  Resistant to fade and mildew.

·     Outstanding construction  - strong tubular steel yet easy to carry. 

·     Seat is 17” wide x 14.5” high and weighs less than 6 lbs.

·     Folds to just 4” high for easy storage.
·     Rubber skids help keep the seat from moving on the bleachers.
 

PRE-ORDER REQUESTS:  To ensure we can meet the demand for the limited quantity of stadium chairs we order, we offer you the opportunity to pre-order your stadium chairs. 

 

Price per chair is just $35, less than you might expect to pay in a retail store for this quality.  We expect to take delivery of the order in mid-August just before school starts.

Donation Forms are now available on the website for the Rompin' Stompin' Raiders Band Travel Assistance Fund. Please consider this tax deductible 501(C)3 charity when budgeting your end of the year charitable giving. The Shawnee Mission South Band Booster Club has developed this fund to assist students with a financial need to participate in the excellent travel opportunities offered by the Band. The Executive Board asks that everyone continue and/or increase their participation in
our FUNDRAISERS. Mr. Adams' philosophy is to keep the cost of band participation
within everyone's reach by not charging exorbitant dues. To support this idea, we
need everyone to get into our fundraisers. If you would prefer to give a CASH
DONATION, those are welcome at any time, in any amount, and are tax deductible.
