Vocabulary/Spelling
Vocabulary students will be working on Unit 15. Spelling students will be
working on Unit 17. I have asked the students to take their books home every
night. Hopefully, they are studying a little each night and
not just on Thursday night for their test on Friday. All vocabulary and
spelling assignments are due by Friday.

Creative Writing
The fifth graders are working on a new creative writing project. Our emphasis
is VOICE. Pretending to be an elf working at the North Pole, they are
writing their boss, Santa Claus, a letter asking for a raise because of their
excellent service at the workshop, with the reindeer and with Santa himself!
The rough drafts have been completed and now we are revising. All letters
should be finished by Friday...just in time for vacation!
