The final week before Christmas break is always a busy one. In addition to
our regular school work, we will also have Christmas program rehearsals, the
Christmas program on Thursday, and Christmas parties on Friday.
Here is a look at some of the other activities we have planned for the week
of December 14.
Monday: The laptops will be in the room to help us review our addition
skills. (We will be visiting ABCya.com. You can get to this site by
visiting the school's technology page, click on Preschool and Kindergarten,
and then click on the fourth link listed under Numbers.) We will also review
our letter sounds and begin focusing on identifying the short vowel sounds
found in words.
Tuesday: Both classes will have rehearsals for the Christmas program. We
will also play Name that Vowel and continue working with fractions.
Wednesday: In addition to Christmas program rehearsals, we will also compare
the weight of various Christmas items using the bucket balances. We will
also continue to explore the Christmas story and add another entry to our
writing journals.
Thursday: The FlashMasters will be out to help us improve our addition
skills. It is also the day of our Christmas program. We will have a matinee
performance at 1:30 and an evening performance at 7:00. Children in the
morning class are not required to attend the afternoon performance, but are
certainly welcome to attend. (Please contact Ms. Fewins if your morning
child will be attending.) Children are to wear their school uniforms for the
afternoon performance and dress clothes for the evening performance. Watch
your child' backpack for additional information.
Friday: It's time to celebrate together one last time before we part ways
for Christmas break. The morning Christmas party begins at 10:45 while the
afternoon performance begins at 2:50. Parents and/or grandparents are
welcome to attend. Please make arrangements for younger sibling.
