Mr. Rich is a 2001 graduate of Centre College with a B.A. in History, a
2004 graduate of the University of Louisville with a Masters of Arts in
Teaching, and completed a Rank I in P-12 Educational Leadership at U
of L in 2009. He is currently a student at UL in the PhD program in K-12
Educational Leadership with a focus on gifted and talented education. Mr.
Rich is in his seventh year of teaching, and loves being on staff at
Ballard. He is also the chair of the BHS social studies department. Mr.
Rich also works for the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program as an
administrator during the summer months, as well as doing some work for the
program throughout the year. Mr. Rich also coaches the varsity quick recall
team, which came in 4th in the state in 2008, at Ballard. Mr. Rich is an
enormous University of Louisville fan, having been a football and men's
basketball season ticket holder since he was a kid, as well as travelling to
St. Louis to support the Cards during the 2005 Final Four. Mr. Rich's other
passion is music, as he owns an obscenely large music collection. Mr. Rich
serves as the chairman of the Phi Kappa Tau Alumni Board of Governor's at
Centre College, and he loves to travel, having been to Italy in April 2009
and Hawaii in August 2009.
My mission for all of my classes is to challenge my students and to elevate
the level of their discourse. I hope to foster a love of learning in all of
my students. I also hope to inculcate my students with a greater appreciation
of diverse world cultures.
