Beta Club WOW, Nationals was great. Seven members, one sibling, 4 parents, myself and my son spent seven days in Orlando. The members had a great time and made many wonderful memories. They meet new people and got to know fellow classmates even better. It was a wonderful thing for me to get to help a number of them experience many "firsts" in their life. It was the first time the majority of the kids had been on an airplane (hitting the bird landing in Birmingham, AL on the way home did not help though). It was the first time most of them had gone to Disney World and the first time one of them had been to the beach. Awesome experience for everyone.
We had two entries in the crafts division, our T-shirt was entered and Nathan was running for National Office (Secretary). The T-shirt placed 4th (which was designed by Tiffany A. ) and the wreath placed 3rd (which was designed by Crystal L.). Alex's crocheted baby blanket did not place at nationals but that has not detoured her as she has already begun a huge blanket for next year's state competition. Nathan did cross over to the final round, but unfortunately TN's candidate won. He did a great job representing both Bernheim and Bullitt County. Way to go guys!
I will be sending out a mailing next month with a calendar of meeting dates for the next year and other information. Be on the lookout for this. Please be sure to schedule any after school appointments around these dates as I send it out early so there are not conflicts. Thanks for your help with this.
For those going to Holiday World on July 9th. Be sure to be at the school on time. Wear a watch that day, it will help you keep up with the time. Remember one meal is covered, games and other food you want at the park will require you to bring money. And as always, Pepsi products and sunscreen are free at Holiday World (and they were not at Disney!)
