Mrs. Simon is enjoying her 2nd year at Burns Middle School. A veteran
teacher of both Middle School and High School, she served as Education
Director and Creative Connections Coordinator at RiverPark Center for 14
years. In the summer, you will see her facilitating Arts Academies for the
State Department of Education and Kentucky Center or traveling to see more of
the world!
Economics is the study of production, distribution and consumption of goods
and services. You will understand how economic decisions affect you, others,
the nation and the world. This will enable you to function effectively both
in your own personal life and as a citizen in an increasingly connected world
economy. You will understand the benefits and costs of economic interaction
and interdependence among people, societies and governments. Many of our
activities will relate to the colonial period in America and the founding of
our economic system.
This semester you will partner with students in Wuxi, China and enjoy a six-
lesson unit of economic studies with our local Junior Achievement.
