The primary focus of school counseling programs at the elementary level is
prevention. Our goal is to help students develop more positive
interpersonal and intrapersonal skills...assisting them to be happier, more
effective individuals and learners. Our school counseling program is for
every student at Locust Grove. Therefore, our services are designed to reach
every student through developmental, preventative education and responsive
services.
I will teach a series of classroom guidance lessons to every student in the
building. These lessons are developmentally appropriate for each grade level
and are generally preventative in nature.
Students at the intermediate level will be presented with new topics during
classroom guidance during the 09-10 school year. At this time, those topics
being considered and will be announced closer to the start of school in
August.
