7th Grade Thoroughbreds
Mrs. Queen
2008-2009
Welcome! It is a privilege to be your teacher and share our journey through World History. I anticipate an exciting year filled with fun, laughter and most of all LEARNING! I am looking forward to your participation, hard work in class.
Course Description: Our Seventh grade World History class will begin with a brief review of Geography that will be present throughout our studies of the world. We will conclude with Middle Ages Europe through the Enlightenment Period. Students are introduced to cultural, economic, political and social development that has shaped our world in which they now live. We will use the textbook World History: Journey Across Time, The Early Ages as a framework for the class. We will also use secondary resources, the internet, and videos to enhance the learning experience.
Text: World History: Journey Across Time, The Early Ages Glencoe McGraw Hill
Requirements: Each unit of study will include direct instruction and various classroom activities, homework, quizzes, and chapter tests. Students should have necessary supplies every day. Students are expected to follow the policies and procedures of the class and school.

Homework will be graded and returned as quickly as possible. Late work will be accepted after the due date per Clark County policy.
Current Event: Today’s present is tomorrow’s past, so it is important to keep up with current events while we are studying history. Every Monday, you will receive a current event that will be due at the beginning of the class period on Friday. Students will be expected to find an article by using the newspaper, magazines, or the Internet. The article must deal with world issues only, please, no local, state, or US news, unless it directly relates to the world.
