Every year, Bluegrass Indo-American Civic Society (BIACS) award
$1,000 one-time scholarships to high school seniors graduating in
the spring or summer of each year and who will be joining a
college for postsecondary education. BIACS has been awarding
these scholarships since 1986. This year, BIACS will be awarding
at least nine (9) scholarships, seven to the graduating high
school seniors from any of the Kentucky high school and one to a
graduate student from UK. The Banquet will be held on Sunday May
20, 2012 from 4:30 to 9:30 PM at Embassy Suites, 1801 Newtown
Pike, Lexington, KY 40511.
This scholarship is open to any graduating high school

2012 Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Scholarship Program.
Created in 2008, the program strives to expand the mission of
Trooper Island, our boys and girls camp located on Dale Hollow
Lake in southeastern Kentucky. Our hope is to provide scholastic
financial support for young people attending a college or
technical/vocational school. Although preference will be given to
those students who attended Trooper Island camp, it is open to
all who apply. We expect to award three scholarships in the
amount of $1,000.00 to be used for the fall semester of this year.

THE ZAMBIA NKRUMAH LIVE THE LEGACY SCHLOARSHIP AWARD: will be
given to two students who are involved in changing our community
and creating a legacy that promotes academic success and communal
empowerment. Five-Hundred Dollars will be awarded to each
student who meets the enclosed criteria. Award is based on
academic standing and community involvement. Students must have a
minimum 2.5 GPA and provide documentation. Two recommendations
(One from a teacher or counselor and one from an adult mentor).
Students must be involved in extra-curricular activities.

MERR scholarships are usually in the amount of $2,500.00 per

Scholarship: one $500.00 scholarship to a member of the class of
