Our field day will be this Thursday, May 17, 2012.  You might want to dress the kids in some old clothes.

 
Here is something you might want to do with your student on a snowy day that will reinforce our fractions unit. 
Pick a real life item that is divided up into equal parts and create it using some construction paper!  You can even discuss equivalent fractions.  An example is below, it shows a football field divided into ten equal (well, as equal as an elementary student can get them) parts.
