After Christmas break we will be taking multiplication and division facts
tests. It is a 3rd grade expectation for students to memorize all
multiplication and division facts to 10 x 10. Each week we will take a timed
test about each group of facts, starting with the 0, 1, and 2 multiplication
facts. When we have finished each group of facts, we will do 100 problem
timed tests over all of the facts through 10. Please start studying these
facts with your child and practice them every night.
We would like to recognize Alexis England for doing a fantastic job on her
solo at the Christmas program last week! You're a shining star, Alexis!
Congratulations to Adam Mahoney for winning our class spelling bee! Adam will
compete in the school spelling bee on Tuesday, December 15th.
Our classroom Christmas party will be Friday at 2:00. You may come in to help
if you have an approved background check on file in the office.
Don't forget to send in a gift for the student gift exchange by this
Wednesday. Boys should send in a $5.00 wrapped gift for a boy, girls a $5.00
wrapped gift for a girl. If your child brings a gift, they will get a gift.
You can check your child's grades anytime from any Internet connection by
going to www.mygradebook.com. Our Classword is Isley 3rd. (Please note that
there is a space between Isley and 3rd.) Your password is your child's lunch
number. (If you don't remember their lunch number, just ask them.) I will
also post comments on there from time to time about how your child is
progressing toward 3rd grade expectations. If you have any questions, please
let me know. Our school may be making the switch to Infinite Campus sometime
this year, which you will still be able to check from any Internet connection,
but we're not sure when and if that may happen.
