About The Teacher

I teach Science for the eight graders. I graduated in May 2006,
and received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Indiana
University Southeast. I have a primary major in Biology and General Science
and a secondary minor in Physical Science. This is my third year at North
Oldham and I have enjoyed getting to know the wonderful students and parents!
I look forward to having another great year!!!

Dear Mustang Parents and Students,

The 2007-2008 school year is off to a GREAT start and we have the honor of
being your child¡¦s science teachers. Your child has an important year
ahead. The eighth grade team wants to make sure that your child¡¦s last year
at NOMS is as memorable as possible as they prepare for their freshmen year
at North Oldham High School.

Eighth grade science curriculum at NOMS is an important part of the high
school science curriculum. Students will be studying various branches of
life, physical, and earth science.

In the classroom, content will be delivered and assessed in a variety of ways
meeting the different learning styles of every student. Students will also
complete a writing piece that may later be used in their high school
portfolio.

Attached you will find a copy of our course syllabus, class expectations, and
grading policy. While we have discussed these in class, your awareness,
encouragement of your child, and support of these policies will help
tremendously in creating a positive environment where true learning can take
place. Please take a few minutes to look over the attachment, discuss it with
your child, and have your child return this letter to me, signed, by Friday,
August 24.

Please inform us of any special needs or circumstances that might have an
impact on your child¡¦s classroom performance or of any other concerns you
may
have. Feel free to contact us anytime we may be of assistance by email or
during parent contact time (11:00-11:40). We will be available before and
after school for help with homework. We look forward to meeting you soon!
