The 2nd Annual NOMS Smath is open to any student grades 6 - 8 that wants to complete an independent science investigation. It is wide open to ANYTHING you want to do! We will meet about twice a month to work on it at school. The Expo will be held in the spring. More specifics will be on the website, but here are some details for now.

Your project can be absolutely anything! You can conduct a traditional science investigation, build something (an engineering project), or do a survey or statistics project. Pick something that you enjoy and are interested in. If you want to do something but don't know what, see me and I can help!

Once you pick your project, you will need to talk about it with me so I can help you and make sure you're on the right track.

Use a special science notebook (composition book) to collect your data, take notes for your research, etc.

For your presentation, you will need to make a tri-fold board. It should have the following information:

I will put your projects into categories (physical science, engineering, life science, etc.) and will give PRIZES to outstanding projects in each category!
